Diary Entry #8

June 15, 1982

Have you missed me diary? I feel like a new woman. Those two months give or take that I spent in Virginia were amazing. I learned so much about space and how gravity works, and stars, and so many things I had never cared abotu before. We learned that we're going into space to study a cosmic ray that's coming by. Coming through? I'm not sure, but the ray is nearby, is the point. The ray is harmless to us, we're checking it's effect on our electronics. That was a bit worrisome at first to me and the rest of the group, but we were assured our ship, the Sagittarius, could with stand whatever could happen. The fact the ship is called the Sagittarius is such a coincidence, considering I'm a Sagittarius! Isn't that cool!

The other people I'm flying with are all really kind for the most part. Our commander is a man named Maxwell. He's super sweet and really smart, and he's the only of us that can fly a plane. He's not bad looking either. Then there's Lemmar. I think he's my favorite. He's funny and really kind, and he's also really smart. I spent the most time with him. He told me stories about his wife and his music. He's a really interesting guy! Then there's Lenora. I'm glad I'm not the only woman on this tirp, I'd be worried if I was. She really cool too. She's a teacher, so her and I get aliong really well, since I don't think nursing and teaching are so different. Her husband Phil is... something. He can be funny sometimes, I guess, but he's real rude to Lemmar and I can't for the life of me understand why a woman like Lenora is married to him. Sometimes I catch him staring at me a little too long, and that makes me a bit nervous. But he's polite enough to me I suppose. I have to at least try to get along with him though, if we're gonna be in space together for the next month. Plus, we're supposedly getting paid boatloads for this. I won't put that money at risk over a man like Phil.

When I'm rich, maybe I'll get my own place, and then Me, Max, Lemmar and Lenora can throw a party. As long as Lenora leaves Phil at home.
